         Quality Audits
Quality audits, through Program Quality Assurance Process Audit (PQAPA) were developed to ensure quality and continuous improvement in Ontario’s colleges.

In order for this to be possible, the need for a provincial standard for college post-secondary program quality assurance was identified and our PQAPA supports the responsibility of each college and its Board to manage the quality of their own programs. PQAPA reviews the existing quality assurance practices resident in each college. As most colleges have reported they are in the process of enhancing their quality assurance processes, PQAPA provides the standards for these processes and a consistent and public reporting of the results.

The PQAPA is a process that involves the regular and cyclical review of each college’s program quality assurance processes. Its purpose is developmental and its intent is to ensure continual improvement. Each external audit of a college’s processes culminates in a report documenting the degree to which their processes conform to the criteria which define exemplary quality assurance processes, and in recommendations aimed at improvement and enhanced consistency with the quality criteria. Colleges can develop their own self study, using this template.
