The Program Quality Assurance Process Audit (PQAPA) has been developed and implemented as the second component of the self-regulatory mechanism for the CAATs. As a co-requisite to colleges gaining greater authority over their own programs, the need for a provincial standard for college postsecondary program quality assurance was identified. PQAPA supports the responsibility of each college and its Board to manage the quality of their own programs. Indeed, PQAPA supports the fact that “ownership of results” is a characteristic of effective quality assurance processes. PQAPA is intended to review the existing quality assurance practices in place in each college. As most colleges have reported they are in the process of enhancing their quality assurance processes, PQAPA provides the standards for these processes. PQAPA Executive Summaries
